of course testaverde played many a years as a backup. brady has pretty much been a starter his entire career, so he's taken more punishment.

As long as he is effective (which he is no question about it) and stays healthy (that's the key right there) then I believe he can play at least another 5 years at his current level. A decade is highly unlikely though but as long as Tom is productive and his arm doesn't fall off like Peyton's has then he should continue playing as long as he can. Other then the knee injury he hasn't really had any bad injuries that can haunt him later.
