Last year's Dracula Untold was supposed to be the entry movie of that shared universe. shyt bombed so I'm surprised they're still planning on continuing this idea.

Granted they did wanted more money made for it
But said its on edge to make a sequel for it

It made less than 60 million in the states though. Granted they lucked out by keeping the budget relatively small but it wasn't received well either, and that's a bigger problem.
