OK, Chalamet isn't bringing anyone to theaters either. His highest grossing movie is Interstellar. He's the 5th or 6th lead in that. lol

While Tom Holland's movies have made more money, he needs to jump ship from MARVEL soon; he already is on the verge of type-casted. Chalamet is going to get his Best Actor award at some point, as he is becoming a in-demand actor for a Director that is looking for Oscar Awards.

He's too big for Scorsese, Marty only does streaming movies now. lol
Being honest, Tom Holland, despite his MARVEL success is probably talked about in such a way as... "Tom is seen as a young, boy'ish, energetic Hero. He is perfect for Spider-Man, but as he gets older... he will look out of place."
He turns 30 next year... but clock is ticking for him to make the jump now to ensure his career continues on post-MARVEL.

Who cares. White people elevate him to god status because most of his films star white racists who basically get away with being horrible to everyone for most of the runtime.
They see themselves in his protagonists. shyt is played out. Bet the next movie he makes will also star a white man treating any people of color with max condescension or disrespect and nobody checks him.

somewhat related: I was rewatching Infinity Game the other day...Tom Holland is a damn good actor. When Tony Starks casually tells him he's finally an Avenger. The way he conveys first shock and awe...then sheer joy and pride...then the weight of that hits him and he gets all serious. All without saying a word. One of my favorite parts of that movie. What a payoff.
