If it didn't chart in the top 20. Games that did chart 15-20 only sold like 350-400k. So those numbers have to be shipped or TR did something that almost never happens. Doubling sales the next month after BFReceipts?

NPD is only physical sales in America. There's plenty of other sales to count outside of NPDs limited metrics

Hate to get involved in the flame wars but a million sold is pretty poor for a AAA game. For reference, the last TR sold just under 4 million and Crystal Dynamics were reported to be disappointed with that. With the money & marketing that goes into these games nowadays you've got to be pushing a few million to break even. That said, I hope the XBOX division is doing well cause the industry needs the competition to stimulate innovation.
1 million on one platform in less than two months is a successful game no matter how you cut it.
That 4 million sold was on 5 platforms and square had to foot the bill for all marketing and promotion.

That was 3 consoles actually. Ps3/360 and pc. TR launched March 2013. PS4/xb1 wasn't even in existence.
