He unretired in March after the Glazers brought him & his family to a Manchester United game. Brady reportedly spoke to Cristiano Ronaldo, who asked him if he's really retired. 1-2 days later after that conversation, he comes out of retirement.

He informed the Bucs ahead of time that he'll be missing a portion of training camp, and Todd Bowles said sure. Local media reported on it. When it finally happened, the national media blew it out of proportion. Todd Bowles specifically said they're expecting him back after the second preseason game. And guess what? Brady was back after the second preseason game. A reporter asked Bowles when Brady is coming back (in terms of what day), and Bowles said he wasn't sure when he was coming back. That once again got blown out of proportion.

His absence from training camp was likely a planned trip with Gisele & his family prior to him unretiring.
