Tommy Davidson’s new book, “In Living Color,” arrives later this month and inside he opens up about his difficult working relationship with Jamie Foxx.
You may recall the two gentlemen initially began working together as costars of Keenen Ivory Wayans‘ classic sketch comedy show, “In Living Color,” but we didn’t know the tension between them was so deep Tommy said there were a few times when he wanted to put hands on Jamie.
In the book, Tommy says Jamie was extremely competitive and his style of humor was “mercilessly mean” in order to score cool points with Keenen.
During a sketch with Jamie, as his infamous character “Wanda,” Tommy says he tried to rip off his underwear.

Tommy admits his first reaction was to “bust him in his mouth, saying, ‘What the f**k, motherf**ka!’”
In 1997, when they worked together on Booty Call, Tommy said Jamie refused to accept the concept of “supporting actor” and he “was determined to steal every scene he could.”

“If I had hit my head on the hardtop concrete, that would have been the end of me.”
“I was ready to give Jamie some street-fighting lessons too, but the crew pulled us off each other and held me back.”
Tommy closed out by saying, “Maybe [Foxx is] a better person now. I would like to believe he is.”
