That second and third verse of 2nd childhood has been so profound. As I have aged to a man who is in their mid 30s, I have witnessed individuals who fit the description of nas verses to a tee. Heartbreaking.

I understood what Nas meant 20 years ago. But to actually see it... man if Premo didn't make that beat so mesmerizing. I don't think I could listen to what Nas shared repeatedly cuz its just too depressing.

The 2001 version of Nas pen was so strong

Even the tracks that didn't make Stillmatic, he was in a zone: The General, Star Wars, Everybody's Crazy, No Idea's Original

Nas SNAPPED on Stillmatic and reminded everyone why he was the chosen one

2001 was one of the GOAT yrs in rap & Stillmatic was a major reason why

Dropped Stillmatic, Lost Tapes and Gods Son under 365 days. :mindblown:

Forgot about Star Wars that should’ve made Stillmatic or Gods Son

(Always loved this cover because he ended the 4 album streak he had going with the other covers since ILLmatic)

Bump it straight through all yesterday. Aged like fine wine. Also couldn't help but feel it's a time capsule of that moment in Hip Hop. It's like you remember where you were as you heard "Ether", "Got Urself" and "One Mic" etc. It's just a strong album all the way through. And don't get me started on Lyrics and Bars, he was spitting crazy. I remember this was the Source Cover he was on that month.

There is a song from Nas that I once heard, I dont think it was from an official album. in The song he raps about about sitting down in a bar or some shyt. The song was fire, but I never could remember its name so never got to youtube it again. I dont know if it was from the Lost Tapes or what but its an old song.

Someone help me find it :feedme:

Skin is a art galleRy
with painTings of Crucifixes
hoPin to Save Me
from all the dangers of the Music Business

...
:wow::mindblown::damn::lawd:

Then he went and did this:

Could you believe even my shadow's jealous
My skin is mad at my flesh, my flesh hates my own bones
My brain hates my heart, my heart makes the songs
Though my songs come from the Father
I'm lonely... hold me, it's gettin' darker

Nas was really out here besting his best on this album.

I was really convinced NO rapper was better than Nas when this dropped.
