Neither of them are "black leaders."

That's the last thing we need is more "leaders", because men are easily corrupted and compromised, and the groups they lead all crumble when the figurehead is torn down, regardless of how great their idea was.

That's how each movement we've had failed, because we put our hopes in men, without separating the man from the ideal, and pushing forward when they could no longer guide us.

Tariq, Tone, and Yvette are all flawed individuals, just like everybody else on Earth, but I appreciate them for sparking this conversation and influencing others to carry on the work that Dr. Darity, Tone, and Yvette started.

That was a bait, you could've ignored....he/she/they know Tariq and Tone do not see themselves or want others to consider themselves leaders

nikkas just wanna be talking to be talking...let'em and ignore'em

I can’t lie this really has an agent-esque feel to it. He knew he had a huge buzz from the NYT article and the first thing he does is big up Trump? :jbhmm:

The irony of this timing is unmatched. Given the recent history of the democrats trying to neutralize ADOS by incorrectly identifying us as Trump supporters or Russian bots, it’s quite weird that as soon as ADOS gets a non bias, NYTimes article, Tariq chooses to loosely support Trump, thus giving the democrat accusations against ADOS new life. Clearly, any brain dead idiot would recognize how bad the optics look for this stance...especially so early in the election process.

Mind you, this is coming from a person who doesn’t think Trump is any more of a devil than the last 44 presidents. So if I could foresee the bad optics & potentially negative impact to the ADOS movement, why couldn't a public figure, Tariq, see the same thing & move smarter?

This exactly. Looking at the traction of those tweets (24,000 likes, 2000 comments at the moment), it dwarfs anything he has probably ever tweeted. It really looks like the work of an operative. He stressed tangibles for over a year now, and Trump says we need to do “invest in black communities” and all of a sudden that’s who he wants to support?

Kamala, Cory Booker, hell just about all of the Democratic candidates have said the same thing and he went in on them for not having a tangible plan. It just doesn’t make sense.

Due to the numbers those tweets did I won’t be surprised if he doubles down.

Whats funny to me, is the same 3 4 posters that :mjcry::sadcam::damn: at every Tariq thread

"YAll LiKe TariQ mOre tHan uS" equates to "Stop talking about him":damn:
:mjlol:

Like I said last year, his time is running up. :mjlit:

I predict a few more hailmarys over the next year or so
But a sow of doubt has already been planted in many who were already on the fence with him.

Ya hate to see it :shaq:

This is nonsense. When does CNN bash black men? I don't even like CNN and I'm sitting here wondering what you're talking about.

Independent women exist. A lot of them especially now. Black women are lapping black men when it comes to graduation rates and starting black businesses...good for them. Why you feel this threatens men, I don't know. Nor do I see any serious discussion on this forum about black men advancing. Instead I mainly see bytching and crying. Similar to what's going on with white men bytching and complaining about the same stuff concerning white women.

I'm not a classist. I'm just keeping my foot on the neck of hoteps who stir division and do nothing to advance anything. Trump isn't going to save you. He doesn't give a shyt about black men.
This is what they wanted. And they succeeded in doing so. I work in the education field, they don’t give fukk about boys and especially black boys. And you know what else to? Their mothers don’t give a fukk about them either.

yvette and tone are angling to be the new "black" political buffer class or gatekeepers.
Begging for white government aid and white government blessings isn't the way.
Malcolm, Elijah Muhammod, TRM Howard, Fredrick Douglas, Martin Daleny, and Booker T., and original Lowndes County Black Panthers, saw this.
We should only demand we be left alone to live our live wihout being victimized by whites and prepare ourselves with weapons to repel attacks.
Anything else is misguided and weaken us, in my view.

I think this is generaly the thinking of more economically liberal blacks like Tariq and PBT and even Jason black to an extent.

While the Gus T Renegades, yvettes, tones, fall on the side of early WEB Dubois (pre his racial reality awakening, towards the end of his life), the MLK/SCLC/SNCC group, Oakland Black Panthers, and etc.

Its a divide that has always existed though in black american struggle for advancement, so to act like there is only one "true" perspective or that you have to be on is pretty ignorant of black american political thought and history

So it should be don't vote
Like Tariq said before

I don't understand how can you go from strong don't vote to vote Trump

Makes no sense at all
I wouldn't say don't vote. I say we need more real black politicians. Not the Step n Fetch it ones. More importantly people need to concentrate more on the politicians in their neighborhood more than the president. They are the ones spending your tax money in white neighborhoods vs black ones.

The highest amount of black people % work for the government, especially women...

A lot of those low paying office jobs were specifically created to target black women with lower wages... AA.

So we actually do need the government unless our black millionaires and billionaires are gonna immediately create jobs for everyone.

It's always gonna be issue since people want money, Tariq is capitalizing off the anger in the community, that's actually good business.

Agent? I don't kwow he's gotten racist legit fired from work and gotten people up outta office due to sparking protest.

Remember the 8 year old who was about to go to jail from the white women who wanted to yell sexual assualt on a 8 year old.

Tariq lead that charge and brought the heat but the c00n momma took the check and told her son to STFU and forget it.

So it's way more complicated that most people think, we also need to survive, eat and live.

People who call Tariq a Agent is just ill imformed

It’s been about tangibles 2020 since the jump. No tangibles then no vote. If a candidate is willing to do something specifically for black Americans then you consider them, it’s cut and dry so how does this not make sense? This whole thing shines light on the Democrats more than anything because if they really gave a damn about the black vote then trump would not be able to exploit their neglect to black Americans like he is now
