Ex-NBA players are so lazy with their analysis. If Flagg wasn’t white, nobody would even make this comparison.
......and if he was going to an East Coast squad, he'd be called the Second Coming.

Media and talking heads are anti-Dallas in hoops and football for some reason. These nikkas act like it's still November 1963.

Thats not really even a diss if Kirilenko is his comp.

The Mavericks aren't taking Cooper Flagg # 1 overall to be Andrei Kirilenko :mindblown:

Whats so hard to understand about what Tony Allen said???

The Mavs are taking him # 1 and expecting greatness. They are expecting generational greatness not no damn AK47 :mjlol:

He's right in that he’s not KD…KD is an absolute alien ..Cooper is going 1 because at the very least he’s a guy who is expected to get 20-22 ppg with elite defense …So while he may not be KD if you tell me the lowest non injury related outcome a player is going to have is Shawn Marion/All Star Gerald Wallace (that can shoot ) ..then yeah he’s going #1 because if his offensive game does take a leap to be a legit second option you’ve struck gold .

What the hell is this did AK 47 play in the 1940s??

Facts. There was a short window where Kirilenko couldawouldashoulda been a star in his own era (and was briefly gassed as that) if he wasn't brittle, soft emotionally fragile, and with a broke outside jumper

That said, i don't watch college ball (literally never saw Zion play until he came into the league) so if Kirilenko is an honest comparison and not just Tony being an ass, it kinda gives me context of what to expect.

Trust me, Cooper doesn't play anything like Kirilenko. TA's just talking nonsense. You should expect Aaron Gordon, with the volume turned up to max.

After watching these playoffs, you know who I'd compare him to?

Siakam. I think his ceiling is obviously higher, and he's much further along at a way younger age, but they are very similar

6'8-6'9 big that can handle, create, and pass. Defend multiple spots. Decent 3 point shooter. High motor guy. Etc, etc

A potentially better than in his prime Siakam is the best comparison imo

I think he has top 10 in the league potential in his prime, but I don't see best player in the league. But, he did skip a grade, so he's still young as hell.

Except Flagg plays above the rim.

If you add that to your description you get the guy I just mentioned above your post.
