Tony Hawk Returns – Exclusive First Look

thps55.5reveal610.jpg

Putting to rest months of cryptic tweets from Tony Hawk, Activision and developer Robomodo have officially announced Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 – a return to the classic gameplay of the series' heyday.
The game is slated to come out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later in the year, with PS3 and Xbox 360 versions following shortly thereafter.
As the name indicates, Pro Skater 5 is a call back to the old-school lineage of the first four titles – back when the franchise was in its prime. The game weds the series' finely tuned gameplay with new additions such as power-ups and the ability to shoot projectiles for specific missions.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 features a new set of levels packed with objectives and missions you can complete solo or with friends via online co-op and competitive play. Whether you just want to have a session with friends or strangers or want to level up your character online and then take them offline, the game's online flow is seamless. Your created skate parks can also be shared with world.
THPS 5, of course, brings back Tony Hawk, and he's joined by some of the series' familiar faces as well as a new generation of skaters influenced by the original titles. Skaters include, Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk, Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds.
The June issue of Game Informer (available later today to digital subscribers) features a six-page feature on the game with our hands-on impressions and all the details.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 announced

Coming first to PS4 and Xbox One, later to PS3 and Xbox 360.

Activision and Robomodo have announced Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year, with PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions to follow.
The game, a call-back to the series’ old-school lineage, will combine the series’ finely-tuned gameplay with new additions such as power-ups and the ability to shoot projectiles for specific missions. It offers a new set of levels, each with their own objectives and missions playable solo or with friends via online co-op or competitive play. The skate park creator will also return, allowing players to share their created parks online.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 possibly leaked by event caterer [Update]
We knew there was a new one coming this year, anyway.
image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/TH5-Event-Caterer-Insta-280x280.jpg

Chef Joe Youkhan, owner of The Tasting Spoon in California, catered an event for pro skateboarder Tony Hawk today. On his Instagram he posted a photo of the event, possibly accidentally leaking the title of the next Tony Hawk video game, which is long known to be in development.
On the projected screen in the background of the image, you can see a “Tony Hawk 5” logo. To the lower right of “Hawk,” you can see what might be a “P” and a cut-off “R,” which would suggest the full title to be Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. Which would make sense, given there’s been nine main games and seven spin-offs.
Thanks, NeoGAF.
Update: Polygon managed to get in touch with an Activision representative, who said “Tony Hawk 5” is a working title.
