I can tell you what I hate about specific types of fans on both sides lol
WWE has this specific type of fan that believes wrestling is exclusively supposed to be whatever way WWE offers and they’re vocal about anything that differs from it. If it’s not extravagant characters, exaggerated dramatic stories etc. it’s not being done correctly and they’re gonna scream about it. They’re obsessed with chart watching and don’t really care about the art. If it’s not making record profits, it’s bad. They’re like the wrestling equivalent of Drake fans that care more about Spotify streams than they do the quality of the music. Type of people who will trash an incredible project because it only sold 50k types
And then you have the smartest-in-the-room AEW dorks. This type of fan is similar to the WWE fan I described in that they believe wrestling is supposed to exclusively be one way, but the difference is they have this weird superiority complex where they feel they’re morally and cognitively superior because of the product they dikkride. Type of people to question whether you’re a “real” wrestling fan and look down on people because they don’t watch 40 different promotions and can’t name the Great Muta’s opponent from June 1997. These are usually the type of dudes that subscribe to Meltzer. Entire online being dedicated to being a wrestling fan. No personal IG with pictures enjoying life, no Twitter or Facebook where they communicate with old friends and family.. just a “AEWsupporter37” screen name and a Kenny omega avatar
The type of people I’m describing don’t really represent the entirety of wrestling fandom but they are by far the loudest and most vocal. I hate all these nikkas
