Right, it's all because of Pop that he has elite speed with the ball, an elite ability to get to the basket, and an elite floater. That is all because of Pop right?

He was a tweener for the first 3 years imo...But Pop did put him a position where his game could mature and flourish...Lets not forget that Avery Johnson and Speedy Claxton were championship winning PGs under POP

Great Big men like Timmy help a PGs game exponentially

Hold up... What "knowledgeable" fans don't think Tony Parker is an elite PG? :patrice:

Outside of spurs fans there are very few people I have ever heard call tony parker elite...and i think there are plenty of knowledgeable basketball people who are not spurs fans

The argument against him from people is "well he plays with Tim and is an all time great"

The argument against him from people is "well he plays for Pop who is an all time great coach so of course he would be good"

The argument against him, before the last two years , from people was "well he only makes shots at the rim he can't make a 15 foot jump shot"

Parker has been putting up around 20 and 8 for about 3 straight years now...and that is going DEEP into the playoffs...and yet people consider CP 3 to be the undisputed best PG in the league...and Rose coming back was supposed to make chicago the team to beat miami...and we are still waiting for deron williams to "get healthy and challenge CP III for best PG in the league" for about 3 years now...and somehow Lilliard became a fringe elite point guard off of just winning rookie of the year in an extremely weak rookie class...

Parker is always the guy they say "meanwhile Parker is having another 20 and 8 season and man this guy doesn't get the respect he deserves"...if people considered him elite, he would be getting the respect he deserves...
