Al things considered, Tony Romo is maybe a top-5 Dallas Cowboys Quarterback.

Aikman
Staubach
Danny White
Don Meredith
Romo
That's not saying much since roger and troy both had damn decade long runs and all of their super bowls.
Thats like saying Colin Kaepernick is a top 5 49ers QB after
Montana
Young
Y.A. Tittle
Garcia :heh:

He was a very good QB that could do some amazing shyt at times and conversely could do his share of :snoop: shyt. The Cowboys never put the greatest team around him however we can't forget that his worst #1 WR was Keyshawn Johnson and he always had Witten. He had that Brett Favre fukk up gene but he never reached the level of greatness Favre did early on.

He just didn't have that killer instinct to me. He wanted to win. He expected to win. And maybe that was the problem - he never NEEDED to win. I think I hurt more over that Seattle loss (y'all know the loss) than he does.

And this right here is a major problem in modern sports fandom. You don't know that man's heart. You have no way of knowing any of what you said. If a couple of bounces outside of his control go his way and they go on a Giants type SB run, would that mean he magically acquired the killer instinct and wanted to win more?

Shyt, Romo never reached the Levels Farve did near the end of his career either

People forget one of Bretts best years was his first year on the Vikings. Dude put up some Amazing numbers and took them to the conference title game.

He was balling on the Jets too before he got hurt.

Farve is starting to become underrated cause all people remember are the INT'S.

But him and Romo aren't even close. Favre was on another level than him.

I don't know about that. Favre after the turn of the century was basically Romo with greater durability. Last time he was healthy, Romo put up a year comparable to Favre first year in Minny. Sure we remember Favre's picks on here, but generally speaking a lot of his fukkups are glossed over. For example, Peyton has been known as a playoff loser for years, even after winning a ring. Favre never had such a rep despite being the main reason his team lost many of those games and holding the all time playoff Ls record before Peyton. It's interesting how we pick and chose who is a fukk up choker and who isn't.

Romo holds every cowboy record at quaterback..thats something i didn't know lol

romo is good but just can't win the big game. most of it comes from poor head coaches like jason garret
Only because its such a pass happy league now... the cowboys always had great running backs for long periods of time...put Troy Aikman with his laser accurate passes in today's league and Romo doesn't come close

Favre made it to back to back SBS that is why. You don't get that rep if you win early. And Favre had that rep among us it's the announcers that loved him.

Romo has had a great career and it's not quite over yet I don't think. He will come back and be made the starter again but I believe he will get hurt again and then we will go with Dak the rest of the way no matter what.

I get that, I just think it's silly, especially in this case when you look at Favre's post 2000 career. Sure the independent thinkers among us can recognize the real for ourselves but most of us are slaves to the media and their talking points.

He never would've made it that far. That's the point. We're not just talking about somebody who didn't win a SB. We're not talking about a Ewing or a Barkley or even a Dan Marino. This guy has every Cowboy QB record in history and has...what, one playoff win in his entire career? I don't know what the man lacks, but whatever the hell it is, he lacks it. You can't tell me we haven't had playoff-contending teams in his entire run. You could've put dude on the 92-93 teams and he STILL would have the exact same luck. And I have no idea why.
