Isn't this the crux of a large portion of white nerd culture? Crying and complaining that women, black people, gay people etc are in comic shyt? I get wondering why there are black elves in LOTR but...why wouldn't the mayor of a major US city be black, if Gotham existed today? Why wouldn't their police chief be black?

In reality it's just a safe space for white nerds and anyone that interrupts that gets attacked.

This goes back to how white directors/producers would make movies or tv sitcoms in which no Black person (or other non-white) is nowhere to be seen in their fictional created world.

I'm not even surprised by his comments because most cacs (especially the Marvel/DC/superhero crowd) hold the same sentiment the only difference is that he had the guts to show his face on YouTube whereas most cacs gonna keep it to themselves or in their inner circle.

Black People can never be seen as the hero through a white lens.

Granted...Black People do heroic stuff everyday in real life. But Black People have been unfairly villified as damn near everything negative in the book...so they can never be the hero in their story. Because in their story...they have to be able to relate to the heroes. They cant see themselves in them.

Too much media exists to serve the white male ego and everything else is secondary...so they ALWAYS have to be the hero...they ALWAYS have to get the girl...and ALWAYS save the day....they ALWAYS have to be the center of attention...as if Black People just CAN'T and AREN'T capable of performing heroic acts.

Like all Black People can be celebrated for is helping their sports team win a championship....and nothing else....
