a lot of villians are too likeable i.e. the Joker, homie from the Thor movies, etc. for the most part, although there are some exceptions, I villains who are true villains, not brave and not likeable.

I was thinking of putting Amy on my list but didn't. And I don't think joker is likable at all breh, I think he's a presence and a force definitely and has a charisma about him but so did hitler. Doesn't mean either one is likable

both versions of the Joker in Batman and The Dark Knight are favorites because people like the characters imo. maybe I'm thinking of this wrong, but the quotes and the jokes elicit laughs not fear from the audience.

Because that's the trick of guys like the joker or hitler (hate to keep going there but it's true)..there's a lure there and that lure can either be their charisma or their sense of humor or their intelligence or the way they carry themselves. Look at Gruber: He's got style, an awesome way of talking, he's smart, and he's an exceptional thief...he seems like a guy you'd like but you know the truth of who he really is and he's a villain. Just like the joker. the lines may be funny but i think that says more about us than it does about them
