Most wanted Games for 2014: 2014 is shaping up to be a great year for gaming as many games are finally moving on from last gen to focus exclusively on current gen (PS4, Xbox One and Wii U). I’m still getting over Witcher 3 Wild Hunt being delayed as it pretty much had Game of The Year 2014 on lock. Despite this there are still quite a few note worthy games to keep your eyes on. I compiled a short list of games I can’t wait to get my hands on.

10) Galak – Z Fall 2014

A procedurally generated Saturday anime style game with deep AI systems and physics based gameplay? Sign me up! I’ve been watching this game closely for awhile and it seems to be coming along swimmingly. Each episode is supposed to last around 30 minutes and the fact that the game will be procedurally generated so you won't get tired of it any time soon.

9)Child of Light April 30th 2014

This is a more traditional RPG inspired by old school RPG’s like SNES Final Fantasy’s. It is developed in with Ubi Art and has a great water color painting look. It is turned based RPG with a story told through iambic pentameter.

8) Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition Summer 2014

This is pretty much a known commodity right now, for those not in the know it’s an action RPG that is based around leveling up and getting better gear. I personally already own it for 360 but can’t wait to pick it up again on Next Gen. This comes with the base Diablo 3 and the Reaper of Souls expansion which adds another character class (Crusader) for a total of 6, adds another chapter for the story chapter, adventure mode and a ton of other features that make an already great game even better

7)Planetside 2 Summer 2014

Let’s see a great playing free to play first person shooter that already has had all the kinks worked out for PC? Yes Please! Courtesy of SOE this game takes you to a world engulfed in war that is completely player controlled. Literally thousands of players on both sides vie for control and you get to take part. I’ve wanted to play it since it got released for PC and now that it's coming to PS4 I will finally get a chance to.

6)Hell Divers Summer 2014

An online co-op game with friendly fire always on and limited munitions? This one just has winner written all over it. I’ve seen gameplay videos of it and It’s a lot easier to watch then to let me explain. It’s something like a cross between the Star Ship Troopers (Killing tons of alien bugs on planet side) and Mass Effect 3 multiplayer (4 team squad based combat with differing load outs) and mix in some insane friendly fire and you have a recipe for a my interest.

5) Watch_Dogs May 27th 2014

In this game you star as Aiden Pierce a man out for revenge in Chicago, which just so happens to have been made into the ultimate hackers paradise by ctOS a company that controls everything in the city from closed circuit cameras, bridges and traffic lights. I really love this game because it will let my live out my fantasy of being a real world vigilante, handing out street justice and being the judge, jury and executioner. Although the graphics have been downgraded form it’s initial reveal it still has a lot going for it.

4) Assassins Creed: Unity Q4 2014
Assassins-Creed-Unity-Logo.jpg

I’ll admit it I’m a sucker for all things Assassins Creed, as evidenced by my Connor Kenway statue, AC3 flag, and season pass for Black Flag. I can’t wait to go back to Europe during the French revolution and put some nobles to the guillotine. I’m hoping that they tightened up the stealth, free running and combat (basically the whole game). There’s no good previews out yet but I expect to hear a lot at E3.

3) Batman Arkham Knight Oct 14th 2014

The Batman Arkham city series is without a doubt the best superhero series ever. This looks to be Rocksteady crowning achievement. Finally the entire city will be your playground and you can roll around in the Bat Mobile. I haven't seen any gameplay but hopefully there’s some after PAX.

2) Dragon Age: Inquisition Q4 2014

The game that looks to benefit from the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s delay is DA:I. It is setting itself up to be the premier WRPG of 2014. I never played the first two dragon ages but this one really has my interest piqued. I think it will be Skyrim-ish with a large open world to get lost in but with better more responsive combat and an environment that reacts to the world around you. They’re bringing back the tactical menu to allow for deeper combat/ combos and the world will respond to your actions, in the gameplay video they talk about some of the choices you make will have lasting implications and the impact the world around you. I know a lot of people are down on BioWare after ME3, but I loved that game (flame me haters!) and this game looks to be really taking fan feedback into account.

1) Destiny September 9th 2014

Although there’s still a ton we don’t know about this game and there’s been very little gameplay actually shown. Despite that it’s still my most anticipated game based off my previous experience with the developer Bungie (who made the Halo series). I loved Halo1 – Reach and the gunplay and tactics involved influenced a whole generation. Now they’re back with a gigantic multiplayer co-op/ pvp shooter. It will have multiple worlds to go to, vehicles to ride and loot to gather. I’m really excited to see how they scale traditional Deathmatch with all the loot that you will accumulate. Add in a bunch of vehicles to use, character customization options and you have me excited. I’m looking forward to the Beta in the summer and I’ll give more impressions then .

There are no new videos I’m aware of so you’ll just have to watch the old E3 gameplay reveal.
