* For my money, A Link to the Past is still the GOAT Zelda, better than Ocarina. It had more dungeons, more gadgets, a more interconnected world, and you didn't have other characters constantly interrupting you with tons of exposition and giving you obvious hints. (

Navi and that Owl)
* I'd also put down Super Mario Bros as the GOAT 2D Mario, but I see why they picked the original, due to it's impact.
It should have definitely ranked above World though. World is a great game and it's still fun, but the cape completely bodies ANY challenge that game could have had. SMB3's powerups and level designs were >
* Pokemon Gold and Silver (and their remakes) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Red and Blue.
* Super Mario Kart > 64. The feather was GOAT, and lightweights weren't totally >>>>>>> the entire rest of the cast. Not to mention that shortcuts in the original were
* Melee ranked the highest of all the SSB games

I gotta give IGN their due here on ranking Melee ahead of Brawl. Brawl is hella watered down and doesn't even come close to Melee's greatness

(Except for Project M

)
* GX is the GOAT F-zero. No complaints here.
* Earthbound in the top 30
For me, my personal GOAT's would be:
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out
Super Mario Bros 3 (props to Super Mario bros 1, world, 64, and the Galaxies)
Super Metroid (props to Metroid Prime and Fusion)
Earthbound (props to Mother 3)
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (props to Link's Awakening, Ocarina, and Majora's Mask)
Yoshi's Island
Donkey Kong Country 2
Pokemon Gold and Silver
F-Zero GX
Super Smash Bros Melee
