Lynch is great but he taking a looooooong ass break; Muholland Dr and Blue Velvet are classics and I like the twin peaks: Fire walker movie too

From what I understand it's not that he takes long breaks it's that he has a hard time getting the funding independently.. He refuses to play ball with Hollywood. Alejandro Jodorowsky is another one.. he's been trying to get funding for "Abel Cain" (The El Topo Sequel) for over 10-15 years...

Yeah, Lynch had a period where his movies were considered worth investing in, but it's been harder and harder for him to get financing for new movies.

I've only seen Ivan's childhood which was amazingly directed, almost enough to put him on my list but I haven't seen enough of his films> There are plenty of other goats I haven't seen yet like Bergman/Kurosawa/Herzog, so take my list with a grain of salt....
