2nd-degree murder charges in beating death of American tourist

It's funny...I'm not the only American breh out there, I'm not the only hood nikka, either. I've actively disrespected nikkas and somehow this man ends up dying.

Police released this image of 26-year-old Julian Jones, an American who was beaten to death while visiting Toronto for a bachelor party on Nov. 5, 2016. (Toronto Police Service)

Julian Jones, 26, was beaten to death outside the Blnd Tger nightclub early Saturday morning in what police are calling an unprovoked attack.

Jones was visiting Toronto from Maryland to celebrate a friend’s bachelor party when the violent incident occurred.

Investigators have said Jones was assaulted, punched, and kicked during the attack, and “had no opportunity to defend himself.”

At Thursday’s news conference, Det.-Sgt. Gary Giroux said that he “had no indication” that Jones was “an aggressor.”

Giroux alleged that Jones and his group of friends involved in some sort of altercation as they left the nightclub, resulting in some of his friends receiving “physical blows.”

Jones was then “separated” from his group of friends, and attacked, Giroux said.

Giroux described Jones as being “down on the ground, in a semi-unconscious condition, being attacked on the ground, helpless.”

The third suspect is described as a white male, between 26-27 years of age with a slim build, last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.

In an interview with CTV News earlier this week, Julian’s father Tobias Jones appealed to the public to come forward if they have information.

“If there’s anything we can learn about the people who killed my son, I will be greatly appreciative,” Tobias Jones said.

The father said his son was set to graduate from university next year and get married.

Investigators told reporters Thursday that they had spoken with Julian Jones’ father and that he took “comfort” in the news that two suspects had been apprehended.

Police said they have spoken with several witnesses, but they are hoping to speak with more.
