Growing up I remember roy halladay would always go like 7-9 innings

I remember watching religiously back in the 90s
Pitchers would get like 8-10 complete games a year in the regular season
Last time a pitcher had 10 CG was 2011

yama did it 2x in back to back starts…
and then tried to pitch the day after AGAIN…
and then ended up pitching 2 more innings AFTER throwing 6 the previous start

This was my first time watching the World Series in a few years, I thought the Dodgers would win in 6, but Blue Jays played about as good as you could and shyt was Bout as even as it could be and the only difference was Yamamoto was a fukking machine.

Dodgers definitely got areas where they can be taken advantage of and can improve in and the Jays will prolly win a championship soon hopefully, their only issue seemed to be late game situations and that comes with experience.

If it were only that simple.

Even in Japan it varies. You got guys like Senga who can’t throw more than 85 pitches a week and then you got guys like Yamamoto who can throw 170 pitches in a complete game in high school.


The Dodgers plan works, but it’s hard to pull off (get as many good starting pitchers as possible and hope 5 of them are healthy at any given time). You got teams who can’t find 3 decent pitchers to put together. As long as starters are delicate, teams are gonna hesitate unless you’re an ace level guy.

I would say they made several miscues/head scratching plays in several pressure moments to lose the game. With a couple of each in this game 7.
That play where the dude on first base got out because he thought vlad got walked - miscue/headscratching
bases loaded, 1 out, still not scoring - miscue/headscratching
IKF on 3rd base and not scoring because his lead was trash - miscue headscratching
all those were pressure moments.

You make some good points still don't think they choked....

Then again I'm not one to hyper analyze especially with baseball its literally a game of chances and inches...entertaining mostly even played series thats all that mattered to me

If the Jays can grow from this they'll be back...

I've been watching baseball all my life, i was the type of breh who would play world series baseball and tony lasorda baseball religiously.

We choked
we had it in our hands multiple times and fumbled at the 1 yard line.

Management miscues, poor base running, not doing the little things. Sticking with bums when guys on the other side who weren't performing were yanked.


like why was this career minor leaguer scrub batting in the 2hole ALL SERIES. Yet a hall of fame in mookie betts who was struggling got moved down the pecking order? Yet a guy like pages who wasn't peforming was yanked but this dude was playing every game

Yet you had a guy who had the most hits ever in a postseason and you had him batting 8th

Watching the big time critical winning plays from this series and game, those are some of the most batshyt highlights you’ll see tbh.

Crazy willpower/execution on some of those plays to get the best of them by a hair.

You got to show stuff like this to your team no matter what sport you play. In other sports if you’re not trying to dive at rebounds or tipped passes, you’re not trying to win.
