If Wall/Beal had the roster of Toronto or Portland they would be still playing right now..

..and they wouldnt be down 0-3 to Cleveland.

The skill of Wall/Beal isnt holding then back , the management for the Wiz has o be the worst in the NBA
The Wizards have a stronger team than Portland.

Portland was third seed because Dame was sizzling and carried them to a long winning streak as well as the injuries to players like Jimmy, DMC, Kawhi that prevented other teams from rising.

Porter, Oubre, Scott, Morris, Gortat, Meeks, Satoransky, Mahinmi>Aminu, Turner, Nurkic, Harkless, Napier, Connaughton, Davis/Collins. Otto Porter would actually be perfect on Portland.

You look at Portland's roster and you have to give Stotts and CJ/Dame a lot of credit for winning so many games and getting that 3rd seed. But their management shid the bed with big contracts to role players who aren't a threat in a postseason situation.

Toronto has the best GM out of the bunch. Masai has masterfully executed a re-load of the roster with picks and utilization of the G-League. They'll still be a top Eastern team but they have peaked as a team that can get to the ECFs but not much further. Also depends on if they get on a path without LeBron in their way.

The Wizards as well know have the problem of Ernie Grunfeld. With him at the helm, you know there'll be short sighted moves such as trading 1st round picks for Gortat or Morris to be competitive. You have him panicking giving all of the cap space that would have went to Al Horford in 2016 should he have chosen to come on trash like Mahinmi, Nicholson, and Smith.

People talk about Wall making $37M in 2019-2020 when they are already burning $47M on trash of Gortat/Ian/Keef/Smith/Meeks

But there aren't many moves that help the long-term depth of the team with him in charge. Wall, Beal, Otto were all consensus picks at their slots. Oubre was a swing for the fences move that never happens under this failed GM and while the kid has promise, will he figure it out and be consistent or have delusions of thinking he's better than he is? That delusion infects the organization from Leonsis all the way down to Wall/Beal.

Scott Brooks isn't the coach to take them to the Finals either.

As far as moves, the Wiz are in position to draft a front court prospect in June (Robert Williams or Jontay Porter at #15) and can work to dump Mahinmi or Gortat in the interim. My biggest adjustment would be for Otto Porter to be your full-time starting PF assuming he can be healthy and put on some more muscle this summer.

My wishlist

1. Trade Gortat and Keef; if they can't find a taker for Gortat then stretch Ian Mahinmi.
2. Draft wish list - Either 1. R. Williams, 2. Jontay Porter 3. Lonnie Walker at #15
3. FA targets - Nerlens Noel, Tyreke Evans, re-sign Scott
4. Offer extensions to Oubre & Satoransky
