The problem with the whole event, was they made it an event, which also makes it loses its heart and authenticity. It felt forced and contrived and the battle rappers were put under the microscope to produce something magical. This would have been great if it happened in 2002, but not in 2014 because we have heard it all and our ears are jaded at this point.
Battle rap does not need to be made a spectacle, simply because it loses its earthiness. Em, Jimmy, and Paul made it a show. Put it in neon, over produced it, made un-natural matches to promote the label. This event had nothing to do with battle rap, it was a shade 45 event.

So if you took em out the equation, and put these same performances from the rappers on/in url/smack format...it would have been good? The sound issues and ebro and royce looking like frick and frack in the crowd I could have done without but I don't think any of that shyt made or rather broke the battle.
I don't think anybody would have cared that much about how big and bright the lights were if the bulk of the performances were up to par with mook's
It would have been a better battle if it was url or smack because they wouldnt have been under the kinda pressure thats brought on by making it some kind of heavy weight title fight for one. 2, if it was done by black people there would have been a better card with a better crowd. This crowd was to cac'd out. Once the cacs get in you start having these minglings of hipsters and real nikkas and the shyt dont mix. Let the hood have their thing.
