I love battle rap but a lot of dudes are corny in the scene nowadays. Kool Moe Dee's Busy Bee battle from decades ago better than all the verses here, sounds far more authentic. I've seen better battles in the street, a lot of dudes can't really battle but just think they can and overrate themselves when it comes to that shyt. Sometimes get some dumb ass audiences too. Noticed a trend of dudes preparing writtens instead of freestyles in the scene, if your gonna do that at the least it has to sound authentic. And it's better to at least be flexible and have a degree of spontaneity even if it's written. There's some dudes in the scene i really respect cause they KNOW naturally how to do this shyt right and they are witty not corny. Some of the battle rappers give the whole scene a bad name, you have to go deeper than this shyt and not judge the whole battle scene on shyt like this. I've seen in person great exceptional memorable battles, where both are really going at it, to be honest the best ones have been freestyle battles where you have every competent freestyles up there. Some of these newer battlers are corny and lack the essence of battling, to much bullshyt watching on movies and TV and shyt to know how shyt really goes down. At it's best battling is incredible to watch and very interesting and exciting. Shouldn't allow it to become corny and formulaic.
Why people hate on lux verses though. THey werent as good as mooks but they werent trash.
