They fell apart in the playoffs but that 2015 Hawks team was looking formidable in the regular season. I think they went undefeated in January and had the best record against the West or something like that. They peaked too early though because their performance noticeably slipped after the All Star break.

Folks talk about the 2015 Hawks being one of the WOAT eastern conference finals teams but you stack them up against the rest of the teams during LeBron's EC reign and they stack up well. In fact I think the only fellow conference finalist that I'd comfortably favor over them would be the 2012 Celtics.

A worse version of the Hawks gave the best version of the Rose-led Bulls problems in 2011. Same could be said for the 2013 and 14 Pacers, with a case being made that an injured 8th seed Hawks squad should have beat Indiana in 14. I don't think the Celtics improved enough in 2017 to where they could beat the 15 Hawks if they couldn't beat the 16 version. 16 Raptors would be interesting but they looked even less impressive in the playoffs than the Hawks did.

I rate LeBron's sweep of that team one of the most impressive and underrated things he's done in his career
