Today, we are excited to tell you about another change that comes after conversations with more than 80 current and former players: we are relaxing our rules on celebrations to allow players more room to have fun after they make big plays.

We know that you love the spontaneous displays of emotion that come after a spectacular touchdown. And players have told us they want more freedom to be able to express themselves and celebrate their athletic achievements.

So here are a few examples of celebrations that will be allowed after scores under the new policy:

In my conversations with NFL players, it was also clear how much our players care about sportsmanship, clean competition, and setting good examples for young athletes. That is why offensive demonstrations, celebrations that are prolonged and delay the game, and those directed at an opponent, will still be penalized.

Best thing they've done from the time they took them away.

Now about that whole touchdown...commercial...extra point...commercial...kick-off...commercial thing that we get on average around 7 times per game.

No way 4 quarters of football should be longer than 9 innings of baseball. Not even joking, I was watching a Monday Night Football game this year when an NBA game came on and the NFL game's 4th quarter started around the same time as the NBA's 2nd half. If it were not a close game, which lead to fouls at the end, the NBA game would've been finished before the NFL one.

Literally the NFL game's 4th quarter took about the same amount of time as the NBA game's whole 2nd half :wow:

Exactly, I understand that commercials pay the bills but that exact sequence is so fukking annoying.
