everybody but harden, cp3, and capela is expendable if it's to get a all-star two way SF, especially if they don't get a championship.
I'm not saying that if you're the Rockets you don't try and get him, but if I'm LeBron it's not as exciting of a proposition as it once was when you remove all the supporting pieces and shooters that are so essential to D'Antoni's offense and the Rockets' identity.

Capela is also about to resign for a huge contract, Paul will have to take a major pay cut or it'll be hard to keep him

The main guy the Rockets would have to get rid of is Ryan Anderson because he's due $20.4 million next year. Ariza is in a contract year so you don't resign him and save money.

If you can set up a deal to move Ryan Anderson, Tucker, and Nene for cap space and don't resign Ariza it gives you a lot of flexibility seeing how guys like luc mbah moute. gerald green, and joe johnson are on extremely low contracts.

anderson. tucker, nene, and ariza are not big losses if you're getting lebron in return.

and i think cp3 would take a paycut to play with his banana boat buddy lebron.

If you can minimize the roster down to just Harden, CP3, Capela, and Gordon, Capela and CP3 would have to combine for under $23mil. That doesn't sound very likely at all, each of those guys might be making more than that and at that point once again LeBron really needs to reconsider what type of team he's actually joining in the West.

My Sixers just won their 12th straight :wow:

They're tied with the Cavs for the 3rd seed and play them Friday in Philly (2nd of a back to back for Cleveland). Winner probably gets the 3rd seed.

even if you have to take losing capela the rockets could still find a decent center for cheap.

chris paul
harden
lebron
luc mbah moute
???

with gordon, gerald green, and joe johnson off the bench is a championship contender. and it works because lebron is still surrounded by 4 shooters in the starting lineup.

Mbah a Moute and the cheap center they find are not shooters, Paul and Harden are the only above average shooters in the starting 5. That team has to get through the West and GSW just to make the Finals, is lacking in perimeter shooting all the sudden and actual role players who can go off-ball, lacking in depth, etc.

That's a great team don't get me wrong, but it's a really gutted roster especially with CP3 turning 33 next month and the historical data on the aging of undersized PGs.

Philly not Hollywood, but it's the 4th largest US market with a rabid fanbase :manny:

Yeah it’s not LA but it’s a big city that rallies hard around their guys. That fanbase has been a big part of Simmons & JoJo already ascending to star status this early in their careers.

luc mbah moute is shooting .355% from 3. .355% 3PT% from a PF is pretty good.

harden leads the league in 3 pointers made while shooting .365% from 3. cp3 is shooting .379% from 3.

eric gordon is shooting 361% from 3 while taking 9 a game. one thing they wouldn't be lacking is perimeter shooting.

thats more spacing than most teams in the nba can give lebron.
