:ehh:
I love these kinda atmospheric tracks.
(Never heard of this chick before, it just showed up in my recommendations)

I thought more of Sudan Archives stuff would sound similar but most of it is meh.

At first I was getting a "something different/novel" vibe like when I first heard Azelia banks or Janelle Monae(pre thot bop) ....or on a deeper cut Bjork & Jamiroquai

:ehh::ufdup: Bingo!
This is exactly the kinda thing I was expecting when I went down the rabbit hole of Sudan Archives.
To be fair the track in the OP is a 2025 single from whatever she is currently working on. Which means a full album could be similar.
Apparently all the other tracks are from prior projects.

To put it in perspective, my bag consist of various stuff like...
  • Flying lotus
  • Thundercat
  • Lupe Fiasco
  • Big K.R.I.T.
  • Janelle Monae(pre thot bop goofines)
  • Azelia banks
  • Bjork
  • Jamiroquai
  • etc etc etc
So that Sudan Archives track slid in quite nice.

Actually Coli poster @xCivicx has a track that I like for similar reasons I like this "Sudan Archives - dead" joint.
  • Great atmosphere - Puts you in a unique head space & maintains it throughout track
  • Musicality - builds & falls on itself with strong distinct beginning/middle/end (not overly repetitious)
  • etc etc etc ....I could actually see it as being the intro/closing to a TV show or Movie

I discovered Sudan archives recently too, that one song “Black Vivaldi Sonata” is something I really like

Anybody heard of Hiatus Kaiyote?
