Alicia Keys and India Arie came out at the same time making similar music. One went on to have a more successful career and critical acclaim. We all know why. It’s no different with Tracy Chapman.

I should have appreciated India more.

It really took to this for me to give her flowers. Need to go back and to listen to other music.

IMO Tracy Chapman's timing like many artists didn't work for them. She came out round the time gangsta music started introducing itself. Also she wasn't in the t*ts & a$$ business and the industry didn't push women too far that didn't. Just my opinion.
