I need to spin her debut again as it's been years. I gotta be honest though, never liked Fast Car. That song bothers me to this day for some reason. Not sure if I dig her vibrato tenor.

IMO Tracy Chapman's timing like many artists didn't work for them. She came out round the time gangsta music started introducing itself. Also she wasn't in the t*ts & a$$ business and the industry didn't push women too far that didn't. Just my opinion.
