:why:
I’m a Hawks fan. We still stan Josh Smith, Jeff Teague, etc, it don’t matter. The only former Hawk we don’t fully rock with is Al Horford. When I was a kid in Houston it was the same for the rockets.

Don’t put your fan fiction on the rest of us because you salty about being stuck with LeMetamucil. That’s your in-season and lockdown league champion! You should be proud and go mind Laker business.
The main point is you’re biased. A serious discussion is pointless lol

I’m calling stuff out regardless of the team or who’s on it

if JJ breaks out, I can see Trae getting traded tbh
Not I’m not even a Trae fan like that, I just have seen enough believe he’s a winning player. He has never had a great or even good roster around him, it’s stupid how y’all judge dudes who have to play with garbage. He’s not Bradley Beal. You would have said the same thing about Hali before he turned taliban. Y’all don’t value pure point guards.
when's the last time you seen him in the playoffs or play-in? this trae is a leader thing is a fantasy - he's usually throwing hissy fits or going braindead down the stretch once teams get more physical

atlanta needed all the roster additions for sure but trae's got this recognition for one great run simply by being mentally tougher than ben simmons

We not accepting any analysis from a tall for nothing, segregation era doowop band, with a fraggle rock puppet as a point guard

How long would it take for said player to turn into 1a?
Go look into the 2026 top prospects. Them dudes are special. I can’t predict the future but I’d say Darryn, AJ, or Boozer could be allstar level in year 2 for sure. And that team would be stacked. Not even talking about JJ, year 3-4 Risacher, and DPOY candidate Dyson Daniels.

Keep that core and add one of the top 3 in next years class and the Hawks will be a problem.

Side note: Trae was 30-9-4 by year 2 :wow:. He peeps the vision.

we all see the hawks thread where there's a "wtf is wrong with this midget" after every season ends :laff: like if JJ turns into the 20/10 guy he was definitely becoming last year before the injuries - why even bother with another year of building around Trae?

if trae wants his money he's gotta have the hawks as top 4 in an injured east this year while also beating the flowchart pg allegations for an all-nba season too

if he ain't that guy then his value is only gonna be worse going forward to the point where you're taking BS back to get off his contract

Trae isn’t getting traded unless he wants to leave. If JJ breaks out, a large part of that will be due to Trae and the FO wouldn’t break that up

Boxscore watching lol

I’ll say this because I’m coming off as if I completely dislike Trae. He’s a good player but has been regressing & gets love off his name.

Trae would be 30-31 when your timeline starts so there goes that 10 year window. He’s a small guard who isn’t a great shooter. We’ve seen this story countless times.

The goal should be to get Trae to be a 20-13 guy. You don’t want a dude under 6’4” being your main bucket getter imo. But Trae’s best trait is his passing. His you can assemble a roster that can let him ease off the scoring and lean more into facilitating, you’re doing great. And I think that’s what ATL is doing.

giving trae credit for JJ's development is... crazy. they don't even approach the game the same way. its like giving KAT props for Ant's growth

may as well say trae is why dyson plays so hard on defense

None of this is guaranteed tho. Regression and injuries happen.

That’s an elite ass box score for a second year player :manny:. I said the Hawks would be set of a decade. Even if they only get 5 more elite PG years of Trae, with that team and one of those top prospects, the Hawks would be elite for a decade
