Lmao I had my eye on this but every comment in here is a turn off for this game.

So bs repetitive, padded dialogue with retread bosses and annoying characters? Guess I’ll pass. O well.
That stuff doesn’t really become an issue till the Cold Steel games. Then it starts being padded with content like you see with persona.

Sky trilogy & Crossbell duology. Build up and payoff is great in these games. If you love jrpgs the first 5 games I would strongly recommend but it’s def a time sink.

Tho with Estelle you either love her or hate her but her and Joshua are both great protagonists through their story.

Def at least try the demo since progress carries over.

Just finished the demo. I had no idea how long it was. Thats one of the best demos thats come out in a long time. Several points where it could have ended and it just kept going. This remake feels like one of the best I've played.

This is how you remake an old school JRPG. shyt feels high budget af with hella smooth animations. I played with the JP voice dub cause the English one sounded choppy just from the trailer. The combat system is a perfect mix of modern feel while fully incorporating what came before. Loved the fast forward system to speed up encounters.

Everything just feels like the devs really cared about the player experience when putting this together. Just playing thru it I felt like damn, what if we got Earthbound or FF9 in this quality, shyt would be piff. If you not gonna go all the way like FF7 this is the best way to do it.

But anyway, I loved everything about this. The only issue I had was the number of enemies on field seems a bit excessive.. but ehh I guess for leveling purposes you might need that later in the game. I never had to grind much in the original version though so we'll see. Could be a day one cop but September is packed so 🤷🏾

I’m not a fan of cold steel series. Loved the oHD 2D release. Not sure I’ll feel this new cold steel remake.

I’m old enough that the 2D version wasn’t dated for me playing for the first time maybe 6 or 7 years ago.

Take back my previous comment. Loved the original still but they did a good job of translating it for modern era based on the demo

So after you beat this game it plays a trailer for a remake of the sequel. I would imagine the sequel should take a year or less to release because it carries over a lot from the prior game. My guess is they could get it out in fall of 2026 if they wanted.
