Training Day is the gold standard of Black Crime Drama's

I really wish Ethan Hawke's role was a breh's, but whatever.

I was watching a few the past couple days, and it really sticks out as the cream of the crop in the genre of black film. None of the stuff from the 70's even comes close.

Paid in Full is probably a close second

Queen & Slim holds on it's own, through it's kinda in the ballpark of say Belly, but better and coherent.

4. Queen & Slim

The Mack was not only sampled on one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time with Only Built For Cuban Linx but Ghostface went as far as naming one of his albums after one of the main characters with The Pretty Toney Album. Can't say the same with Training Day.
