The focus of the OG series was always the robots. You gotta try this with someone who's not old enough to remember, I was actually watching that shyt when it was on TV. Humans were occasionally shown, and would be incorporated into the plot (like Spike and his family), but to say humans were featured "heavily" is a blatant lie.

humans were always a big part of G1. Just off the top of my head, the Autobot Spike episode, there was a rich dude behind "Megatron's Master Plan", there was that episode where another rich dude was collecting Transformers as trophies, that King Arthur's Court episode, Powerglide falling in love with that actress, Optimus Prime's body was actually saved by humans which eventually lead to the return of OP, that Cobra Commander episode, that stupid episode where Rodimus, Magnus, Springer, and Arcee became humans somehow where their clothes were the same as their robot colors and at the end SPIKE being the Headmaster for Fortress Maximus and Daniel for Arcee
