spirit and southwest have cheap flights to costa rica, panama, and columbia. the puerto viejo area of costa rica is pretty nice....not as many tourists as the pacific side of CR. region also has afro-Caribbeans....beautiful women and great food

i usually book hotel and flights separately. for costa rica, i got an airBnB....$60/night for a two bedroom house in the middle of the jungle, 5 mins walk to the beach

What I do:

1. Get a map and a compass (you can do it wtih Google Maps too
2. Figure out how far you're willing to drive
3. Draw a circle
4. Pick a spot
5. Look up a tourist/party spots website
   
6. Do it

Most people never bother visiting the sites withing a few hours of them. Lots of stuff to see without spending a lot of money or time traveling

Too bad its not June 26th weekend or there about, I'm hitting up the B-more Crab and Beer fest. I usually drive down to DC first and on the way back up rent a room, drink and eat crab then drive home the following day.
