I think the food in other countries will taste different due to the fact that they have different agricultural standards in regard to the raising of produce, poultry and livestock. I even notice Coca Cola taste different in Jamaica or even Heineken taste better in Amsterdam which I think has to do with the water. :manny:

The food in Spain wasn't good...nothing tasted better in Spain.

Turkey and back home has the BEST food, period. The veggies for sure and fish and bread...everything is fresh and not pumped with hormones. The desserts, too!

Food in DR was gross (but I stayed at a resort, so that's why...had I gone to a real restaurant off the resort, I'm sure my opinion would be different). Cuba had the best rice and black beans...want some of that right now, yum.

Jamaica had great food...the patty and coco bread...can't get the same taste here.

Italy = best gelato & pastries. Best pizza I had is probably back home...not in Italy (and NYC)

France = best crepes.

Japan = ehhhhhhhhh didn't have anything I really loved in Japan. Food is okay there. They eat a lot of pork, which surprised me.

Austria = best goulash.

Canada = poutine! Montreal...yum

lol, DR isn't known for having great food so that's okay. Some individual people do cook well though.

Turkey? My cousin says that. She studied abroad there. :ehh:

I haven't had a crepe since like...7th grade. 1993-ish? :patrice:

Never had poutine. The cheese on it in pictures doesn't look good. I'll skip that part. :sadcam:

Slightly reckless language on NYC pizza. :ufdup:

Surprised about Spain though. With French & Italian cuisine nearby, you'd think it would be amazing. :why:

Being in NYC i'm really fortunate to have some of the best food from every culture.

Paris - there's really something magical about their food, even the restaurants in touristy spots have great food. Their neighborhood bakeries have delicious breads. Their butcher shops sell roasted chicken, and their many cheese and wine shops are amazing.
London - Food there sucks even the indian food. I went to a bunch of them too. It doesn't suck but it's not something I can't get in nyc.
Dubai - Best shawarma sandwiches ever. It was at this place called al mallah. It was lebanese style, about 2 bucks, it was so fukkin good I ate there 4 days in a row. Their garlic white sauce made it. They had this banging ass pakistani restaurant too, it was on No Reservations, it was delicious and it was only 5 bucks for a big meal. There's also this experience I would never forget. It was at the al arab hotel, on one of the top floors, you have afternoon tea there for about 180 a person but the experience was well worth it.
Hong Kong - Best cantonese food, best dim sum, great seafood, great food courts.
Istanbul - Their "kepaps" are good but every single restaurant sells the same shyt. I don't know if it was because I was in a touristy area but literally every place sold the same food. None the less it was great but a bit repetitive. They also have "ottoman" cuisine which is more traditional turkish food i think, lots of stews.
Beijing - Probably some of the dirtiest restaurants I been to ever. SThey give you hot water to clean your own bowls and spoons.
Caribbeans - nothing crazy, all resort food. Except puerto rico where I did stay in a hotel, their local cuisine is delicious.
Maldives - Just like indian food, seafood focus.
Sri Lanka - just like indian food but I think it's usually a bit spicier.
Italy - underwhelming, even the pizza there is not as good.
Spain - one of the best meals in my life was at this small mom and pop restaurant where they had a regular stove that you would have at home.
Netherlands - ehhh.
Taiwan - Absolutely the best street food scene in the world and you eat like a king for like 4 bucks.

Hands down I would take NYC over any other place for the variety alone.

My friend...

You'll need to elaborate.

$140 to drink tea in Dubai? Does a ballsack rub come as part of the deal?

My brother went to Hong Kong. Liked it, but not as much as Tokyo.
He also went to Beijing...and said China is the biggest shythole on earth. Rude, pushy people. And dirty. VERY dirty. :merchant:
He'll never go back.

Interesting. London doesn't call my attention to travel at all. Maybe I'll go one day, but it's way down on my list.

Afternoon tea is a british thing. So its more like a 10 course tasting menu with tea and champagne. They have unlimited desserts, bunch of pastries, and even steak wellington. So for the money you do get a lot of food but it was all about the experience and the view.

I'm sure Beijing has nice places but the ones I went to were insanely dirty. I'm talkin about restaurants that had like an inch high of dirty water on the floor. I personally would not go to london ever again. But some people love it. China is a beautiful place, you have to go to places that are not too touristy. Shanghai as touristy as it is, is exceptionally beautiful.
