“Travis Hunter lacks technique and relies too much on athleticism, people forget he allowed over 100 yds because of the spectacular interception.”

Puka Nacua NFL Draft scouting report

Nacua was listed at 6-2, 201 lbs. and ran a 4.57 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

The NFL's "Next Gen Stats" grades each combine prospect with a production score and athleticism score, and Nacua raked 12th and 47th, respectively, among the draft classmates at his position. Overall, those scores measured him as the 37th-best receiver in the class — a ranking that was clearly off the mark.

Nacua's prospect grade projected him to be an "average backup or special-teamer" expected to go in the sixth or seventh round.:laff:

Weaknesses

  • Will struggle to elude NFL press coverage:mjlol:
  • Lacks instant acceleration to separate:russ:
  • Upright route running makes him easy to redirect
  • Does not have the long speed to keep corners from squatting:heh:
  • Occasional issues with focus on downfield targets

But isn't that what a team is supposed to fix once they draft a player, if he has all the tools, isn't it your job as a coach and team to help that player, especially a top pick hit their potential?

Only bad game I saw him have at CB was against Stanford. Also isn't the team drafting him responsible for his further development or is he supposed to be a complete project at this point.

NFL is like every job. No training or development, they want superstars out the gate

these are all true things about Puka, besides the press coverage projection

Puka ran a 4.5+ 40 and he was thought to be a possession receiver at most, however people undervalued his precise route running and most importantly his hands and aggressiveness which allows him to beat press coverage

even when Sean McVay banged the table for him, his main reasoning was Pukas hands and route running, and he said he would be an extension of their run game. he was thought of a Deebo lite with much better hands/receiving capabilities but with worse acceleration and injury issues

All CB's give up plays at times. It's a hard position only time he really got torched was the Stanford game

Why are people catching feelings like they are Travis :mjlol:

It literally says at times.

Scout reports are like lawyers, or at least should be from my understanding. They need to find possible risks and shortcomings too

he went back out there after that big hit he took. then of course the offense targeted him in the 4th. he was burnt out
AND this was after him rushing back from that big injury he had vs Colorado State earlier in the season.

He shouldn’t have even been playing.
