Music is music. "rapping" is the core of lyricism, which is the key to any song. That's why most true musicians respect a true lyricist, because the hardest thing about a song in my opinion is the lyrical concept, and putting the words together. So that's why a lot of your most talented rappers can "hold a tune" so to speak, rock, soul, hip hop, etc are all branches growing from the same root.

And most people are morons. And I'm not basing my opinion off the majority of people. Aside from hip hop my most listened music genre is rock and all its sub genres.
You like Converge and rock music so you should know why myself as a fan of rock music wouldn't consider him a genius. Most of those bands all write their own shyt.
There's ton of people within rock who can play multiple instruments. If you learn how to and know how play piano you can basically play any instrument.

Playing multiple instruments and writing songs is reasonably simple. Playing multiple instruments very well and using them to orchestrate several albums of classic quality is genius
