Ariza plays defense...Hayward and Parsons don't

Parsons play defense. I remember when he was in Houston, ariza defense was pretty underwhelming. It wasn't on the level of meta world peace and Courtney Lee here. He'll even Jeffries defense looked better in his short time here in houston

I wouldn't pay him that much money. He isn't worth 12 mill a year. That kind of money is for a borderline all-star. I will let him walk. He can be replaceable for the low.

Because Houston asked him to be the guy creating offense which he couldn't do.

And in New Orleans, his shooting sucked and they also asked him to be an initiator of the offense with CP3 and David West being the only offensive options.

It's no coincidence he puts up his best 3 point shooting numbers spotting up with Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol in LAL and then since Wall returned from injury in January 2013, he's effectively shot 40% from 3 and his FG% has risen. His shooting mechanics also changed here in DC compared to his time in NOLA.

His defense is still as good as ever. Should have been on the All Defense teams. And he's still a decent rebounder for his position.

He's one of the top perimeter defenders in the NBA and can effectively guard 1 thru 3

Contract year stuff is a concern but if he's in the right role, he's a great 3&D SF to have.
