He's only 25

Brees didn't become godlike until after he turned 26. Wishful thinking but hey.

You let us know when it’s okay to hold Trevor Lawrence accountable then. The guy has had tge absolute worst support i can think of. Except for Doug pedersons 1st season when he made it to the afc title game with WRs who are 3rd or 4th string on other teams now.

I posted tweets.
Panthers were ass. All he had to do was not turn the ball over too much. Let’s revisit this when he has to be all world in a gameI posted tweets.

…It's ok to hold someone immediately accountable for stuff that's in their control breh.
But he cant control not having a coach, a OC, a WR, a OL nor a defense. CJ Stroud at least can rest on having a defense.
Definitely not the same thing. A generational player is Tom Brady but he wasn’t a generational talent, it’s completely understandable why he went in the 6th round. A generational talent is Bo Jackson but he didn’t end up being a generational player, mainl because of injuriesThey’re the same thing.
A generational player without generational talent is merely your typical great player.
While I disagree with this, its a fairly enough point. The one drafted at #1 a year before him but still no all-pro, OPOY or MVPs. And the way it was looking yesterday. With both lines being weak, it’s gonna take some time
Tom Brady was generational, he was the greatest winner of his generation. That alone makes him generational, and the fact that nobody was even close to his level of winning makes it even more generational.I think someone labeled generational should be that player who has a skill set or athletic talent rarely seen. Not just someone who is great.
Tom Brady was a great player. He was not what I’d call a generational talent.
Michael Vick was a generational player.
Barry Sanders was a generational player.
Who else would I put in that category? To some degree Reggie Bush. Probably Derrick Thomas?
Luck lived up to the rookie year hype. He didn't truly fulfill the hype for his career, the way he was spoken of coming into that draft, he was supposed to be what Mahomes has been (who didn't have anywhere near that kinda hype).Andrew Luck lived up to the hype. Took a 2-14 team and went 11-5 his rookie year
Vick was a generational talent but not a generational player. Barry Sanders is the perfect answer. He was a generational talent AND player. Tbh Adrian Peterson was both too IMO
Fair enough point. This guy Lawrence isn't even showing the flashes Brees did though. Its Year 5, if he's gonna show flashes of potential Brees-like play, this is the year. He's only 25

This is some serious caping. The guy has been bashed by the media and is in Jacksonville relentlessly since his rookie year. His 1st coach was urban Meyer who after he got paid admitted he wasn't in it. Then he got Doug Pederson who checked out after year two. Though his 1st year TL made it to the afc title game.
He's had a new OC every year he's been in the league! The best WR they could get for him before BTJ was Kirk. A 5'11 slot guy as WR1. He never got chemistry with BTJ because he got hurt. He got hurt like 3 outta 4 years because his OL been so bad.
What other "generational QB" get called in the office with the HC and OC and told "look we don't care if the OC calls a bad play, STOP audibling from the play and play your position". His last two years he was at war with his OC because press Taylor is a trash OC...but D. Pedersons boy toy.
The guy has had defenses that were nearly historically bad. No type of help. A run game that can be decent in some games DESPITE a lack of run blocking. Absolutely sucked at short yardage.
Yeah he and BTJ don't have that chemistry yet (sometimes it's just like that) but his chemistry fine with other WRs.
This guy hasn't been given nothing to work with. And no chance to get comfortable in a system. Has to learn a new one every season.q
