Imagine stereotyping an entire region cuz of a dumb rapper. You're the dumb one who thinks fukking Trick Daddy is supposed to be a scholar:laff:

That's like me saying NY nikkaz are stupid becuz one of their lagendary rappers, Nas dropped out of high school in like 9th grade and spits pseudo intellectual dumb shyt like on his song "I Can"

:mjlol:

I don’t think he's supposed to be a scholar, at all.

He's just as dumb as expected, bro.

And that was my problem with southern hip hop in the late 90s. I'm from the south and once No Limit and Cash Money blew up, a lot of other southern acts started to take the same simplistic southern route of music. I would meet people from all over the US or G LOBE, and they couldn't believe I was from the south by the way that I spoke, movies I watched, music I listened to, or books that I read. It's like one year the south literally got stupid overnight and we all were supposed to be slow and stupid according to the mainstream. It just erased everything the Dungeon family, rap-a-lot, Suave house, and others had done prior to 1999. Even Cash Money had dope lyrical shyt too. Then NY and other states started following and here we are today.

Facts.

Pre-'99, it was mad different.

Labels started getting away from the intelligence, and almost seemed to be marketing and promoting the stupidity and ignorance in the south. I always speak about Ying Yang and sh*t like that. There was an intentional push to put these types of "rappers" on display. It was almost like "the dumber, the better".

I expect a good 95% of all rappers to be actually dumb no matter where their from

You on the other hand most likely think NY rappers are scholars. You prolly was over like "KRS ONE actually has a genius level IQ, listen to his lyrics" :pachaha:

And go back and read this part "Also you're saying that the majority of Black Americans have LOW IQ. And unless you're a fukking immirgrant u just dissed your dumb ass self lol"

The two aren't a 1:1 connection

You can understand something and just not feel like sitting through it or get distracted

That nikka straight up not understanding shyt, he woulda said the same shyt back in 2001

A new york nikka from the same group in your avi sat in front of a camera and told people we don't need to know how to read, just over a week ago...

Anti-intellectualism(amongst black people) is a low level street nikka attribute and street nikkas exist everywhere :russell:
Dumb ass NY nikkaz think they exempt from this bruh lol

Look at this one nikka in this thread who is tryna harlem shake his way outta this lol

Hip Hop in the golden era was about rapping lessons and teaching the listener through lyrics.

X-Clan, PE, Brand Nubian, Poor Righteous Teachers, KRS, Rakim, Kane, etc.

Like the homie @Tommy Gibbs said, after '99, we clearly saw a push to promote the dumbest of the dumb in the south. Rico and Sleepy Brown from Dungeon Family said the same sh*t. This isn't a NYC perspective. We all saw what was being pushed.

Sinners is probably one of the LEAST confusing movies of all time

There is plenty of information to process on a surface level with Sinners. You can watch it as a straight forward movie and be entertained, but it's also very layered for people who like to peel them back.

What fukks up the surface level viewers is the discourse around the movie, they feel left out when people are still talking about the film as they look for something else to consume and discard.

i can appreciate tricks commitment to ignorance but i dont think film is his forte really

hes basically admitting he doesnt like reading :picard:

i mean... its what i expected. hes trick daddy! it would be like asking gucci mane his favorite cupcake recipe, or asking jeezy about opera
Nikkas can't have cupcake recipes?
