Taking a woman out on a date is not simping.
Giving a woman flowers and writing her poem to get the date when all you needed to do was ask is simping.
Simping isn't inherently bad though if you actually reach your goal.
The problem with simps nowadays is that there are too many of them and they are simping on too many women at the same time.

A man should know that a woman really fukk with him before giving her the time of day, let alone "doing things" for her. Like I already said, someone else is already doing things for her. If she's really feeling you, you won't have to. It won't even come up in conversation, and if she fukk with you, it never will.

What are some signs a man need to pay attention to for him to know if a woman fukk with him?
I'm kinda doing some self promotion here (might make a thread probably) but what I wrote here also explains why this is at a all-time high
The real reason is that sadly, what makes men sexually attractive (assertiveness, dominance, confidence, brashness, "big dom energy" swagger, ), has a lot in common with problematic or toxic behaviors (arrogance, selfishness, not being kind or sensitive, being an emotional robot) that society is trying to fix.
And when you have society trying to fix toxic behavior, regular sexy masculine behaviors that have a lot in common with it are going to also go away as a byproduct, creating a lot of dudes that are plain and have nothing to them.
We don't want to admit it, but there is some overlap between what women find sexually attractive and what is considered toxic
in short, society is more equal & progressive, but dating and sexual attraction is still very conservative
EDIT: society in general is also going away from things that gave men masculine qualities. Internet pervasiveness and PORN has the removed that natural incentive for dudes to have to actually go outside and be confident and assertive to approach girls
EDIT 2: on average, generally speaking, women usually prefer men that are stronger than them, that earn more than them, that are taller than them, that are more emotionally stronger than them (e.g. don't cry as much as they do), etc.
Those traits are also less common now that society is more equal, unfortunately.
