I know a lot of people that just do drugs to coast thru life.....
What are your little nuggets of gold that's helped?
Mines:keep all of my problems to myself, if something is really bothering me don't react in the moment. Sleep it off and I'd have a different response or not even care upon awakening.
My friend does the same thing when it comes to problems and he rarely reacts impulsively to situations. He always says, "I'll sleep on it and have an answer tomorrow." I do the same thing now.
One tip I follow is a way to curb your temptations and cravings. This is how it works: envision your enjoying or experiencing a temptations such that you remember what the temptation feels, tastes or smells like (i.e. for example, eating a marshmallow). This action itself should reduce your craving as you go through the mental motions. For example, sometimes I have the urge to go to the theater. Rather than going to the theater, wasting my money and feeling disappointed shortly thereafter for falling into temptation, I envision what going to the theater feels, smells and is like. Then I remember the feelings of disappointment and wastefulness I experience thereafter. This mental process "cools" down my cravings and helps me cope. Try it,
