What makes him more popular? Is it the ability to act as a chamillion and adapt to trends in the market or hip hop game? Ice Cube is still very popular an so is Bryan "birdman" Williams. Sean combs is very popular and worth more than Shawn carter but even he doesn't get the same respect for his credentials.

What makes him more popular is that he has 11 number albums, is constantly touring the world playing in from of arenas full of people, is married to Beyonce, is cosigned by the POTUS, and I could go on and on. The answer to your question is common sense. No of those things that I listed makes him a "better" entrepreneur than the other guys, but that's why he is more popular or gets more shine. Why don't you get to what you're really trying to say? Since you're obviously disregarding the obvious, why don't YOU tell us why you think that Jay Z is more popular than the other hiphop entrepreneurs?

Cube has been relevant since his inception. While he may not have the exact same business ventures he has a very successful film company a TV show and still remains active in music


He sold millions of records and like jay-z had a label at one point. Roc a fella records doesn't exist anymore.

1. Puffy didn't start off as a "Solo Artist". And he had almost the same level of notoriety (ha) that Hov has now when he was fukking Jennifer Lopez. Before that he was the head of Bad Boy records to the public, and before that he was "Biggie's sidekick". His time as an ARTIST has come and gone, and he has NEVER been as accomplished an artist as Jay Z has.

Also, he's never been friends with The President.

2. I doubt Cube's worth 500 Million, has been rapping since NWA, is not fukking a J. Lo or Beyonce in the public eye (hell, Mack 10 was fukking T-Boz, at least), never been friends with the President.

3. Birdman kissed Wayne and stole Kimora Lee Simmons from Russell.


I do understand what youre saying, but you're lumping all of these cats together because they're successful rap moguls.

They're all successful and getting money, sure.

But none of them started in the public eye as an average rapper who took almost a year to go gold during the modern golden era to become so PUBLICLY/SOCIALLY successful as Jay-Z.

This brings me back to my original post. You're just as obsessed with Jay z as the people that you're referring to. This isn't a thread about guys like Puff, J Prince, and Master P. It's a thread about Jay Z. If you wanted to give shine to those guys for not getting the credit that they deserve then you wouldn't have mentioned Jay Z.
