Ebro speaks the truth about this.. these so called lyracist out here dont know how to convey any emotion into their records other than pretending to be tough. Thats why the south blew up, their records sound like they had fun making them, if a so called real hip hop type of rapper can make a song that actually sounds like he had fun making while still being lyrical, it would get more play.
ebro's stance is so blanket. there is good music that should get more play, but they just don't push it because it would take work and its just easier to play the same type of records. you gotta expose people to new shyt. last year, howard homecoming, I threw a pregame tailgate and before people got there we settin up, shootin the shyt and I just let the skyzoo album ride. so when it got packed a chick asked for me to throw on meek mill and as soon as I flipped it over, the other chicks were like "nah, put that other shyt back on" and I had side discussions w/ these brawds just putting them up on skyzoo. and this aint no nerd committee of females that don't go out. these are the chicks that nikkas go at and we all know if they like some shyt the dudes will follow. its just a matter of not being lazy as program directors. I know hot 97 talked about it being a matter of jobs when their playlist doesn't fall in line with what EVERYONE wants to hear, but FOH if youre telling me you cant replace ONE song in that playlist per week to feature new music that you and your djs can agree on is good.
im tired of the excuse making for bad music that we're just supposed to accept as good, just because.
