You know there's a middle ground right?

They don't dress 90s or hipster. Same for me. I dress like a grown fukking man. It all depends on the person. But if you walk down the streets of NY, kids usually dress in tigher pants, sneakers, all kinda funny hats and shyt

Older people dress differently but not 90s inspired

and how did you dress as a teenager? :usure:

ebro's stance is so blanket. there is good music that should get more play, but they just don't push it because it would take work and its just easier to play the same type of records. you gotta expose people to new shyt. last year, howard homecoming, I threw a pregame tailgate and before people got there we settin up, shootin the shyt and I just let the skyzoo album ride. so when it got packed a chick asked for me to throw on meek mill and as soon as I flipped it over, the other chicks were like "nah, put that other shyt back on" and I had side discussions w/ these brawds just putting them up on skyzoo. and this aint no nerd committee of females that don't go out. these are the chicks that nikkas go at and we all know if they like some shyt the dudes will follow. its just a matter of not being lazy as program directors. I know hot 97 talked about it being a matter of jobs when their playlist doesn't fall in line with what EVERYONE wants to hear, but FOH if youre telling me you cant replace ONE song in that playlist per week to feature new music that you and your djs can agree on is good.

im tired of the excuse making for bad music that we're just supposed to accept as good, just because.
The point isnt that there isnt good music being made, what he is saying is NY artists or artists that are not from the south dont know how to make music that the average person will want to hear in the club or at a party. in the 90's the party and club songs were balanced, you had lyrics and you had a good beat to dance to. This era of artists cant seem to bridge the gap, I like lyrics to but if you cant make a song that speaks to the non hip hop head you will never get play anywhere outside of peoples iPods. Like it shouldnt be hard to find a good artist, but most of these dudes like a skyzoo, or action bronson or whoever you are going to say is dope you have to listen to them like you are studying for a test. they make good chill music or good agressive content, but where are the upbeat songs that you would want to hear while you are out partying? :stopitslime: this aint poetry, this is music there should be something else about these dudes that grab my attention other than their lyrics.

transitioning from ebro's lazy vlog to your lazy post. its so fukkin LAZY to say ny artists "make dictionary rap" and that's all. off top, sky had a joint w/ raheem devaughn on his last joint that you cant tell me I need a fukkin thesaurus to make it through. good beat, nice melody and he even threw in a line a Giuseppe heels for the label whoring bytches that you and these dikkheads say aren't capable of understanding or liking anything else on a record:comeon:

You are taking this too personal, Im not saying he is wack, I'm just saying the type of music being made from places like NY only speak to a certain audience becasue of the sound that they put out. You are either super thug or some type of back pack super serious, dont have an outgoing relatable personanlity, and it comes through in your music... ex.. a guy like royce the 5'9 to me lyrically he is a black eminem, but he doesn't have the over the top personality that em has or the ability to display that in his music.

There's an agenda by the radio stations to only play certain shyt, the reason why some of these tweeners (backpack/street) or "unclassified" rappers don't get any burn. DJ's and radio personalities realize all too well that they are the tastemakers, if they play a song 100 times the chances of gaining fans off that record is enormous. They can say "well we just play what's popular, and our ratings will fall off if we start playing different shyt" but like @NV-ME said, it's not hard to throw one song from these so called "dictionary rappers" on, they do make some quality music that you don't need a rapgenius to break down.

In response to this thread, T James just saying what he feels is right, and what [some] of us are thinking, NY isn't as prominent as it once was, and its a direct reflection of the type of music they're making. They're either southern implants or tryna be on some nostalgia early 2000's type of rap, with no sound of growth.

Maino still acting like a he a teenager on the block though :usure: that's a discussion for another thread
