You do know every nyc rapper that became a star got their start making the underground happy NOT radio or females. I watched ALL of them come up using college radio, late night mixshows, and hood clubs where the nikkas got rowdy, the ladies loved them type of nikkas, THEN the radio NEEDED to play thwir music They may have had a few songs for them but they mainly wanted to make hip hop music listeners happy. Tdying to appeal to everyone and be the shyt before you get credit from those that listen to your shyt at home, in the ride, or in the train is what killed nyc rap. You are in the club once in a while, so why juat make music for that?. Have ever wondered why you have so many one hit wonders?. They make club songs all the time. Guys need to take pride in making music that WE like then get women or radio to come to us. It's called being a real man and being hip hop.

The club is simp central these days.

You have to be real young to make this statement. NYC were the first to go hard on camoflauge gear. When tupac got shot he said he knew the guy who was in front of the studio had to be from brooklyn because he had on camoflauge coat. That was a brooklyn thing. He was right cause tut was from brooklyn. This was in 1993. Army coats was being rocked at the most since 1991.

I'm pretty sure The Panthers introduced Military BDU into Black fashion.

I like your posts but now your reaching. Nobdody was rocking army coats cause of black panthers in the early '90's. That was thug gear, for thug reasons such being heavy for the cold at night, it can hold your guns good, and pockets for your work or trees. Plus it was the style after a while. When I say army coats was a mostly brooklyn thing I mean A LOT of people there rocked the coats not just a few. After brooklyn the bronx rocked it most. Queens loved the carhart shyt.

The Panthers weren't militant thugs? They may haven not gotten it directly or consciously from the Panthers but that is definitely where it started.

That is a group who have a certain dress not just regular people on the street. They were militants against the government, while people in bk were rocking the gear for other reasons including fashion. I never seen old pictures of people in the 60's and 70's wearing army gear just to chill outside. When I started wear boots my mother was looking at me like I was crazy for wanting to wear construction boots as everyday gear.
