In all fairness, Magic never won sh*t with Shaq ...and he would've ended up with the Lakers anyway.

Shaq won more playoff series in the '94-'95 season than we have in our whole history.

True though, he woulda went to LA anyway.

But Shaq and KG. What could have been...

EDIT: Nevermind :guilty:

But playa patna...Shaq changed the Magic's whole LIFE...they almost didn't even exist until he got there.
I mean...before Shaq got there, the greatest player in Magic history was a race between Nick Anderson and Terry Rutledge.

Not even trying to rain on any parades, because Shaq would've looked dope as a T-Wolf, but I don't think they'd be in position to take KG because Shaq would've made them a play-off team by himself at that time because the West was weak (how times have changed). This would've put KG out of range because he was one of the lottery prizes at the time. I just see the Orlando situation all over again. Shaq always wanted to go to LA.

KG was 3 years later, and while I agree with your premise, Orlando became a good team because they had insanely good luck too (they win the lotto again the following year and swap Webber for Penny Hardaway)

While Orlando was in the finals, Minny had saved their team from moving to New Orleans.

Yeah almost no doubt, even if they didn't get KG I think MInny would've got Shaq some competent talent anyways though.

There was absolutely no chance anyone was drafted over Shaq in 91...and he would've left mine just as fast or faster than if he left Orlando.
I think the idea here is that Minnesota could have won the lottery over Orlando, not that Shaq wasn't going number one overall.
