Before buying tickets to WWE’s next show, beware: you might not get what’s advertised.
This past Friday,
SmackDown came to Greensboro, NC, and promised a star-studded lineup headlined by Cody Rhodes, according to WWE’s website. But when the night ended, the former Undisputed WWE Champion was nowhere to be found.
“Cody Rhodes was scheduled for #Smackdown tonight but it ended up being a no-show?! Why?”
asked one fan on X.
As late as 6:25 p.m. ET on Friday, WWE.com still listed Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Bianca Belair—none of whom appeared—as “Featured Superstars” for that night’s
SmackDown. The Greensboro Coliseum also promoted Rhodes, Belair, and Kevin Owens,
who is currently sidelined with a neck injury. However, it included the disclaimer: “
Card subject to change.”
