No it doesn't, That's what ultimately killed WCW so TKO will let people go if AEW is offering what they believe is an obscene amount of money. Jade said AEW offered her more money than the WWE and she still left.

It most certainly does. The reason why people like Vaquer got called up so quickly is because she was offered more than the usual NXT contract. It wasn't as much as Khan would have paid her but it was more than what WWE usually pays.

That's someone coming into the WWE, you think the mainstays are going to accept less if Tony is willing to pay more? Stephanie is living her dream but I think more are going to follow the Mercedes blueprint, and so far she's been proven right. That mindset of the WWE being a dream for fans growing up is dying, and most are looking for who's paying most.

So it’s just a coincidence then that when AEW started up a bunch of talent got new deals at big increases?

I think it might end up being a bit generational tbh - if you're in your 20s now and on the cusp of "making it" your dreams were probably built up watching WWE (unless you're an outlier like Will Ospreay who was inspired by AJ Styles in TNA)

Give it a few more years and there will be talent coming up who built their dreams knowing there were two routes to "make it" in American wrestling... they might not be so easily swayed by a pay-cut in return for a shot at Wrestlemania.

And with smaller PLE cards it’s becoming harder to get them moments.

Either way, it ups the value of the wrestlers themselves. It gives them more financial freedom instead of being stuck in one place. Some of the AEW midcarders like Black and Miro went back to WWE so I have to assume WWE is paying them well

Also, I’m willing to bet a lot of MFs grew up wanting to work for Vince.

I’m sure there’s guys that grew up watching HHH/HBK and want to work for them now. Be interesting if that part changes though.

Just about every wrestler wants to wrestle at WrestleMania

Even with this generation of young wrestlers like Bron/Tiffany/JeVon they still grew up with WWE at the forefront of wrestling

It might take another 2 generations for that shift to happen so drastically like that

Dom and Fatu are both dynamic characters that are over with the crowd and yet both of their title reigns have been duds. The problem isn't the midcard champs, it's the guy booking the midcard champs.
Crowd starting to boo Dom again out of disinterest because Triple Hiatus is sitting on this Finn turn too damn long. :francis:

Maybe, But I think some of these wrestlers are still stuck in the "treat me better" mind frame, when they all need to be in the "make as much as you can and bounce" mind frame. That's why I said Mercedes won, because she now has generational wealth and doesn't have to put up with HHH's phony ass. Her choice in partners on the other hand... :russ:
