It makes me wonder if Naomi would still be champion right now. It would make sense to have Stephanie chase the title against a strong heel, but let's say you get to Crown Jewel. Naomi either faces Tiffany, someone she's already wrestled multiple times, or Jade, someone she's already wrestled multiple times. And the Crown Jewel matches tend to be fresh (Cody and Seth hadn't wrestled each other in three years and the story was that Seth needed to beat Cody). Most likely, Naomi would have dropped the belt in Paris.

If Vince was still around, he would probably have Stephanie win for the sake of Crown Jewel, then have Naomi win it back afterwards. But these days, you can't have short title reigns unless someone's hurt.

I'm thinking part of the title picture in some capacity even if the plan was her losing in Paris. The booking seems to want to keep Bianca tied to Jade/Naomi, so things seem almost at a standstill until Jade wins and Bianca comes back.

The eventual buildup would obviously be Jade vs. Bianca. It's funny though, since Jade is heel now if Naomi was still on her run it would have put the company in a place where Naomi would have to brag about how Bianca was dumb not to trust her about Jade.

I say all that to say I'm not sure if Jade would be heel if Naomi was still active. I think they didn't want a face Jade beating Tiffany. I like Stephanie too, but I agree a short run then putting the belt back on Naomi would have made sense if she was active, but I wouldn't have minded Naomi having a long reign either because she was doing such a good job character wise.

Breh @AStrangeName is mostly a TNA fan from what I can see but yeah there's a lot of options to watch other wrestling if you aren't enjoying WWE. That said, I don't think WWE is as bad right now as it was in some of those years where Vince seemingly lost his mind.

I agree I don’t think it’s that bad. It’s just too safe at the moment. It’s not must see. But there’s like 8 or 9 years in the last 20 worse than HHH time at top, all booked by vince

I followed TNA heavily during the AJ styles and wwe was trash days
I bought wrestle kingdom 4 years in a row during the height of Okada and omega days watching that shyt at 3 in the morning

People fantasy book weird ass booking decisions all the time in the name of "let it play out" when 9's outta 10, the booking never gets much better from the start.
